CACI expands its military space presence and continues to win GSA AAS FEDSIM contracts

January 22, 2026GD4A, MDA, Mergers and Acquisitions, Top GOVCON Competitors, U.S. Army, USAF, USSFBrian Lindholm

CACI is shifting from space services and software toward end-to-end space mission systems by acquiring ARKA Group for $2.6B (announced in December 2025). The deal expands CACI’s ability to deliver space-based sensors, ground processing, and analytics to the Intelligence Community and the U.S. Space Force, strengthening its position for Golden Dome (GD4A)-adjacent opportunities and broader modernization priorities such as Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2), Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), cyber, electronic and information warfare (EW/IW), and cloud.

The FedSavvy Strategies Takeaway

  • CACI is expanding its work in the military space market, with extensive software development capabilities, large-scale commercial-style IT services, military and mission IT, and special operations support.
  • CACI’s acquisition of ARKA Group bolsters CACI’s space capabilities and supports a broader push toward full mission-system delivery.
  • The company appears to be aligning its work around high-priority national security modernization efforts, including C5ISR, cybersecurity, EW/IW, cloud technology, and JADC2.
  • Its recent moves strengthen CACI’s posture as a Golden Dome (GD4A) competitor.

How is CACI Positioned in the Military Space Market?

In December 2025, CACI entered into a definitive agreement to acquire ARKA Group L.P. from funds managed by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities for $2.6 billion. ARKA supports national security missions through its space-based sensor portfolio and ground-based software processing capabilities. ARKA builds CACI’s capabilities in the space domain across the Intelligence Community, the U.S. Space Force, and other Department of War customers.

The move signals a shift in CACI’s space capabilities from services and software to more end-to-end mission capabilities, combining hardware, software, and analytics, with space-based sensors and ground-based processing, strengthening its relevance to defense customers and potential GD4A opportunities.

Who is ARKA?

ARKA Group L.P. is a space and defense mission-systems engineering contractor focused on advanced sensing, resilient communications, optical systems, mission software, and data analytics. Its portfolio includes remote-sensing payloads, laser threat detection, and mission-management software tailored for military and space platforms.

ARKA Group was formed in 2019, with the acquisition of AMERGINT Technologies and the consolidation of its heritage companies under ARKA. The firm has performed significant work for the U.S. Army, including delivery of AN/VVR-4 laser detecting systems under a multi-year contract, and supports a broad array of defense and space customers with mission-critical technologies and services.

GSA AAS FEDSIM Wins

Given its strong FEDSIM track record and continued expansion in the space domain, CACI is well-positioned as a leading competitor in the military space market and a contender for emerging Golden Dome opportunities.
